Veterinary Surgeon (Director)

Lisa graduated from the University of Edinburgh in 1989 and has worked at the Vale Veterinary Group since then. Lisa became a partner in the practice in 1997 and now has over thirty years experience in small animal practice. She has a particular interest in medicine especially the diagnosis and treatment of Chronic Kidney Disease in cats. In her spare time Lisa volunteers for Street Vet, a charity that provides free veterinary care for pets belonging to homeless people on the streets of Birmingham.

Lauren graduated from the University of Bristol Vet School in July 2014 and spent some time as a small animal vet in the North West, before joining Vale Veterinary Group in September 2014. Lauren is currently studying towards a postgraduate qualification in Medicine with a particular interest in cardiology.In her spare time, Lauren enjoys following rugby union and looking after her three Maine Coon cats.

Lydia went to study in Warsaw, Poland to follow her lifelong dream of becoming a vet. After graduating in March 2018, she started her new career at Vale Veterinary Group. Lydia’s interests include soft tissue surgery as well exotic animals; birds, reptiles and fish. Lydia however didn’t return home to the UK alone. A scared, neglected, abused Jola came into her class and stole her heart. Together they are both loving life in the UK particularly walking on the beach, exploring new areas and attending agility classes.

Joanne graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in London in September 2019 and started her dream job as a veterinary surgeon at Vale Veterinary Group straight away. Joanne has a particular interest in feline medicine and plans to study this in detail in the future. With a love for cats, of course she has two of her own: Rosie, a fifteen year old tortoiseshell; and Eva, a seven year old black and white cat, named after a character from the film, Wall-E! Eva loves to join Joanne when she does yoga but would rather have fuss than join in on the stretches.

I joined the practice as Head Nurse in January 2019, having spent the previous 6 months working as a Qualified Canine Hydrotherapist at a Rehabilitation Centre. I qualified in 2013, with a degree in Veterinary Nursing and Business Management, and have since worked at a busy Veterinary Hospital where I held the position of Head Nurse. I have experience in the nursing of many complex conditions, and also have experience working with exotic pets such as birds and reptiles. Outside of work, my menagerie includes 10 dogs, 3 British Short Hair Cats, an African Grey Parrot, Chickens and Ducks. In my spare time, I enjoy breeding, showing, and judging dogs (mainly Shih Tzu), and attending football matches.

Vicky completed her degree in Veterinary Nursing at Hartpury College and became a qualified RVN in 2010. Since then Vicky has gained experience at several practices including an orthopaedic referral practice in Worcester. Vicky is also one of our clinical coaches for our student nurses and enjoys the teaching aspect of her job as well as the nursing side.

Carly qualified as a veterinary nurse in 2004 after completing a degree in veterinary nursing at Hartpury college. She has worked in small animal practice ever since. Her interests include surgical and theatre nursing. She spent 9 years working in an orthopaedic referral practice and enjoys nursing orthopaedic cases.

Sophie Joined the Vale Veterinary Group in January 2012 after graduating from Harper Adams University in 2012 with a Foundation Degree in Veterinary Nursing. Her passion lies in Surgical Nursing and Critical Care. Sophie has a certificate in Feline Friendly Nursing from the International Society of Feline Medicine. Outside of work Sophie enjoys caring for her special needs cat, Captain Morgan and days out at the farm with her Daughter, Freyja.

Megan joined the practice in 2012 as a student veterinary nurse after spending time here on work experience. Megan enjoys all aspects of practice life and qualified as a Veterinary Nurse in April 2016. At home Megan is usually found trying to keep up with her four crazy Cocker Spaniels and a Pointer. Meg enjoys showing her dogs and most weekends attends high level competitions.

Charlotte started working for Vale Veterinary Group as a kennel assistant after completing 4 weeks work experience and then went on to enrol as a Student Veterinary Nurse. Charlotte loves working with animals and enjoys going home to a mad house full of pets, including a 13 year old Australian Kelpie, a crazy 3 year Jack Russell cross, a noisy cockatiel and a very naught rabbit that likes to escape. Charlotte qualified as a RVN in April 2019.

Hollie qualified from Hartpury University in June 2019. She has a special interest in holding nurse clinics and enjoys meeting clients alongside their pets. Outside of work Hollie enjoys baking, horse riding and taking her dog Teddy for walks.

Emma is one of our Student Veterinary Nurses and has just started her second year of college. She enjoys in patient care and consultations and has a big love for Labradors. At home she has a very energetic Springer named Branston and a cat called Boots.

After spending 20 years working for and with the NHS I moved from human care to that of animals and joined the practice as Practice Manager in 2009. Outside work my time is predominately taken up with Tachie & Blaney, my very active Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever’s that I try to tire out with agility, flyball and long walks.

After working for HSBC Bank for many years, Jacqui changed career in 2004, and has worked in both the Kidderminster and Stourport surgeries. Jacqui is now Head Of Administration at the Kidderminster surgery and returned to accounts and numbers with the bonus of her love for animals. Any spare time is spent with family and two dogs in her touring caravan. Finalist in the 2013 Pet Plan Support Staff Of The Year Awards

Julie has worked at the practice since January 2003 and very much enjoys her work here. Julie lives in Storport with her partner and his cat maverick.She has a dog "with attitude" Princess Connie who came home with Julie from the practice after only eight weeks of her joining! Amazingly Connie and Maverick get on very well together.

Having previously worked at our Stourport practice until 2010, I returned to Vale Vets in July 2014 mainly based at Kidderminster practice as a receptionist. At home I have two Kune Kune pigs called Rhubarb and Custard, chickens, a rabbit called Tetley and a young Boxer dog called Jax so with the rest of my spare time I enjoy walking, swimming and going to the cinema.

Sarah joined the practice in 2017, having previously worked in education. Sarah has two teenage sons and most of her spare time is taken up at motocross or football events. Sarah lives with her husband , two sons. Nala a rescue dog and Reggie the Lurcher. Sarah also has a keen interest in horses.
