Veterinary Receptionist (Temporary contract for 12 months)
A receptionist is required to join our friendly team at our surgery in Stourport on Severn. Experience in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner are essential. Experience in client care, handling cash and general administration desirable.
Approx. 27 Hours per week- Monday to Friday on a shared rota basis to cover opening times of 8-7pm
Available for holiday and sickness cover on an ad-hoc basis would be beneficial.
Salary £11.10 per hour
Some permanent hours after the temporary contract are a possibility.
Overview
To be the first line contact for clients, their animals and all other visitors to the Practice. Relay accurately & act in a timely manner all messages taken. Act in a courteous and professional manner at all times. Be aware of & adhere to the current practice policies
Key Duties include, but are not limited to:
· Welcoming and registering clients on arrival
· Satisfying client queries
· Client care after consultations including ensuring clients are clear on information given and seeking assistance if not.
· Dispensing medicines
· Making appointments
· Taking payments & adhering to the Practice Fee Payment Protocol
· Being responsible for cash, credit card and cheque transactions
· Balancing the till and cashing up
· Dealing with enquiries
· Taking and relaying messages
· Booking home visits
· Preparing vaccination booklets & identichip paperwork for Vet and nurse consultations
· Preparing the Pet Plan insurance cover notes
· Administration and promotion of the Practice Health Plan
· Ensuring the reception area is clean and tidy before opening
Promoting sales of food, wormers and flea products. Assisting with clerical duties & working as a team member in promoting practice growth and development.
